Best Media Reporting on Climate Change in the Indian Himalayas – Award for Professional Journalists

Indian Himalayas Climate Adaptation Program (IHCAP) of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is inviting all professional journalists to enter the Award Competition entitled ‘Best Media Reporting on Climate Change in the Indian Himalayas’. The major objective of the competition is to encourage appropriate reporting of climate change related issues in the Indian Himalayan Region and in turn to enhance climate change awareness among public.

Eligibility Criteria –

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to submit entry.
  • Entry should deal with the effects of climate change, adaptation to and mitigation of impacts the Indian Himalayas. Media reports emphasizing/highlighting climate science with relevance to Indian Himalayas are also eligible for entry.
  • The entry should have been published/ broadcast between January 01 and December 31, 2013.
  • An individual can enter only one entry in any of the four categories.
  • Entry must be accompanied by an endorsement letter from the editor/news editor of the media house in which the report has been published/broadcast.
  • Entries can be in any language. Entries in languages other than English should be accompanied by an English summary of about 500 words.
  • Photographs submitted should be accompanied by a short description of the same explaining the context of the photo and the location details.
