Vodafone Foundation Uses Mobile Communication Technologies to Enhance People’s Quality of Life

The Vodafone Foundation received recognition from the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 4 December 2001. Globally, the Foundation makes social investments by funding projects which support health, education, accessibility and disaster relief and preparedness through the use of mobile technology. The objective is to utilize innovative mobile technology in mobilizing social change and improving people’s lives.


  • Vodafone Instant Network Programme – The Vodafone Foundation is committed to providing assistance in the area of disaster relief. The aim is to deploy Vodafone Volunteers and technology in emergencies to provide free communications and technical support to aid agencies and victims and develop new technologies to support the humanitarian community.
  • Mobile for Good – The Foundation is dedicated to mobilising communities around the world to improve their lives. To achieve this objective the Foundation uses its charitable giving and its privileged access to Vodafone networks, technology, customers and employees to empower people with the necessary tools to make a difference in the world.
  • Thought Leadership Research – The Vodafone Foundation invests in thought leadership research to help charities of all sizes to understand the potential power of ‘mobile’.
